Bomb Monkey, the latest offering by Mutant Mudds and Dementium: The Ward developer Renegade Kid, arrives on the 3DS eShop in North America on 28th June for $5.

The game places players in the role of a primate dropping blocks into a Tetris-like space, then blowing them up with bombs. It will feature two player competitive and co-op modes.

Interestingly, there's local co-op available where two players can play on a single 3DS. With the system held vertically like a book and players sitting across from one another, one player can use the d-pad to control the monkey on their screen, while the other player uses the face buttons to control the monkey on theirs.

The game promises four single players modes including: Endless, Rescue, Numbers, and Three Minutes.

There's no word yet on a European launch, but with Mutant Mudds released here yesterday it's likely Bomb Monkey will reach our shores as well. We've contacted Renegade Kid for more info and will update as we hear back.

We were quite fond of Mutant Mudds at Eurogamer. "It ascends above its humble concepts with gusto and aplomb," wrote this journalist in our Mutant Mudds review where it scored a commendable 7/10.
