March 2nd iPad 2 event confirmed

Invitations to Apple's rumoured iPad 2 event next week have been sent out - it's real, confirmed, happening.

The date? Wednesday, 2nd March. The time? 6pm GMT (10am PST), according to IGN.

The invite shows a big, calendar-style number 2 with the words "come and see what 2011 will be the year of" written below.

The top right corner of the number has been peeled back to reveal what looks like an iPad beneath.

Apple's iPad 2 event takes place in San Francisco at the Yuerba Buena Center for the Arts - it's pretty close to where the Game Developers Conference is being held next week.
