Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary release date

Remake coming this November.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is releasing on November 15 this year.

A poorly kept secret, the existence of the remake leaked this morning before being officially unveiled at Microsoft's E3 conference.

As expected, it's an HD remake of Bungie's 2001 original, and will feature full Xbox Live support for campaign co-op and competitive multiplayer.

Although few details were revealed, the game looked to be made using Halo: Reach's engine, and seemed to add more recent innovations to the classic game – an assassination, a feature that debuted in last year's Halo: Reach, was spotted at one point in the reveal.

There will be seven multiplayer maps in total, all remakes of classics from the original. Although there was no word on the developer, it's widely believed that Saber Interactive are behind the remake.

Its release date is November 15 2011, ten years after the very first game was released.
