Half of 1% of Skyrim Dawnguard beta applicants received invites

Plus, 1.6 update available for all Steam users today.

Half of one per cent of Skyrim Dawnguard beta applicants received invites, Bethesda has revealed.

Around 75 per cent of the total invitations went out yesterday, Bethesda Game Studios tweeted. The rest go out today.

Dawnguard is the first downloadable add-on for last year's phenomenally successful fantasy role-playing game The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Bertie checked it out at E3. Read his Dawnguard preview here.

"We had a TON of people apply," Bethesda marketing chief Pete Hines added, again on Twitter. "Thanks to everyone willing to help out. We look fwd to feedback from those that get emails today/tomorrow."

Meanwhile, Bethesda announced that the Skyrim 1.6 update, which adds mounted combat, will be available for all Steam users today. It's already out on Xbox 360. No word yet on PlayStation 3.
