Crimson Dragon balance tweaked ahead of launch

The developer of 16 Xbox One digital-only launch title Crimson Dragon will tweak the game's balance before it's released at midnight tonight.

The decision was made based on feedback, director Yukio Futatsugi wrote in a blog post on Xbox Wire.

"Crimson Dragon is designed to be challenging," Futatsugi said. "This has always been my vision for the game. I want you to feel like you've accomplished something each time you master a mission. To be proud of each dragon you've worked so hard to evolve to its ultimate form.

New trailer shows off the Panzer Dragoon successor's gorgeous world.

Panzer Dragoon and Phantom Dust creator Yukio Futatsugi's upcoming aerial shooter Crimson Dragon was announced today as an Xbox One-exclusive.

Previously it had been announced as a Kinect-based Xbox 360 game. It will still be Kinect-based in a sense, but with the Xbox One's Kinect 2.0 that's included in the upcoming console.

A pretty spiffy trailer was shown off today at Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference, as can be seen below.

Microsoft makes Kinect Xbox 360 exclusive Crimson Dragon official

Microsoft has made Crimson Dragon official.

The game that was codenamed Project Draco was playable at an Xbox 360 10th anniversary event in Akihabara, Tokyo last week. There, Microsoft confirmed the new name, which had been revealed by the Australian Classification board earlier in the month.

Japanese magazine Famitsu (via Andriasang) reported that the Kinect game is due out on Xbox Live Arcade at some point this year. Crimson Dragon is the brainchild of Panzer Dragoon creator Yukio Futatsugi. And, like Dragoon, is an on-rails shooter.

Japan-made Xbox 360 exclusives revealed

Microsoft announced three Kinect-enabled Xbox 360 exclusives and two Xbox Live Arcade titles - all created by Japanese developers and due out in 2011 - at the Tokyo Game Show this morning.

The headline new game is codename D, from No More Heroes creator Suda51. Fresh from his appearance at EA's TGS conference, Suda51 described the Kinect title as a "very core action game" without guns and swords.

"You must fight for your life to survive an evil amusement park filled with twisted and eerie creatures," said Microsoft. "With codename D for Kinect for Xbox 360, you are the controller as you unleash devastating effects to destroy enemies and objects.
