UPDATE 22/10/14 1.15pm Watch how Nintendo has updated Yoshi Circuit for Mario Kart 8 in our new track comparison video, which shows off the Wii U version alongside its GameCube and DS predecessors:

ORIGINAL STORY 22/10/14 9.10pm Nintendo is resurrecting the much-loved Yoshi Circuit for Mario Kart 8's first add-on pack, due out next month.

The course originally appeared in GameCube entry Mario Kart: Double Dash - way back in 2003, just to make you feel old - but has been jazzed up with new visuals and a remixed score.

This retro track is a bit of a dinosaur.

Four of the DLC's eight tracks have now been detailed - Yoshi Circuit, Wario's Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, plus new F-Zero and ExciteBike-themed courses.

The pack will also contain three new racers - Link from the Zelda series, Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach (the latter of which also appear in the footage below).

Four new vehicles will be added, too - the Blue Falcon, B-Dasher, a Zelda-themed Master Bike and a Tanooki Truck, also shown below.

Interestingly, Yoshi Circuit was already brought back as a retro track - in Mario Kart DS.

This is the first time that Nintendo has remixed the same track twice, which begs the question what other favourites we may see again... Waluigi Pinball? Delphino Plaza? Baby Park?
