See Defense Grid 2 in action for the first time

Indefensible.

Defense Grid 2! That's Hidden Path's spelling, not our own, by the way - we know how defence is really spelt - but that aside this tower defence sequel is looking quite smart. Following five years on from the original when the tower defence genre was all the rage, this is partly the result of a semi-successful Kickstarter earlier this year that started with the intention of simply building a meaty add-on. But they didn't stop there! Instead Hidden Path went on to make a full-blown sequel.

I'd tell you more, but frankly I'd do an awful job of it and you're much better off watching the below interview and gameplay video that Ian Higton put together after Gamescom.
