THQ makes second Splash
DownHaving purchased Rainbow Studios several months ago now, we've been quietly expecting to hear something of the developer's plans, and in a typically brisk press release this week, THQ has confirmed that the Phoenix, Arizona-based developer is working on a follow-up to Splashdown.
Splashdown was a reasonable success on PS2 and later Xbox, and was championed for its extremely lifelike water and wave effects. Rainbow is promising more of the same, with bigger waves, swift currents and treacherous downhill rivers. Other additions include indoor stadium courses, a Freestyle stunt mode, "technical time trials" ... "and more".
Splashdown 2 is expected in summer 2003, although in the absence of any screenshots or platform information, we'd wager that it's liable to slip.
