Personified by its trademark bright colours, Rare's first tentative steps into the world of XBLA are a remake of cross-platform classic Jetpac. Featuring much frantic blasting it hopes to recapture the tense excitement of the 80's original.

Looks good. Nice idea starting with shots of the original as I was just in middle of saying meh when they sunddenly showed the proper version.

Well maybe but if they just released the original it would be written off as a cheap retro rehash. They at least look like they have put some work in on this.

I hope you get the original version as well as the updated one.....nice bit on the screen where there was sabre man, the robot from alien-8, the devil from underwurld in the top right, the cauldron from I think knightlore.

Looks like it could be fun! Now how much do they want for it? There is this, TMNT and worms to consider now. Since owning a 360 I have only ever bought Bejewled 2 & Bankshot Billiards because the rest were shite.

While I don't remember JetPac (I played it back then, that's for sure, but don't recall it with the same nostalgia I hold for other games of my youth) I have to admit I liked what I saw...

Ahhhhhhhhhh.

I was so jealous of jet pac on my neighbors spectrum (had a c64 meself). The updated one seams to have a bit of a dropzone feal to it perhaps.

The original version looks better!

I was gunna say something like that, all the colours and bright particle effects particlarly the background not being black makes it look confusing on what the heck is happening on screen.

/makes obvious reference to original Jetpac being a minigame on Donkey Kong 64 for which he awaits to arrive on the VC.

I think the transistion would have had more impact if they had done the whole 'lets remix the original soundtrack with an entire orchestra' thing.
