So, no - not zombies.

In terms of behaviour - at a *total guess* - probably the running zombies from 28 Days Later and the like.

Looking back at Tomb Raider, and how Core were esentially forced to turn the same franchise over and over for years, you can easily understand how the quality was almost guranteed to decline.
Regards The Last of Us, we've seen very little so far and I'm normally super skeptical when all we get is concept art and movies (which to be fair is all we can expect this early) - Dead Island springs to mind, amazing trailer and slightly ropey (somtimes brutally frustrating) game. But this is Naughty Dog, so I can very much afford them the benefit of the doubt. Looking forward to more details about this one.

@CamelCarcass: It doesn't change the fact that the enemies are pretty much the same. It's mindless mass of humans with no self control trying to kill, maim and infect others in a end of world scenario. The bigger picture is the same and the threat as well.

Are people in denial about it? Or are people just okay with it? You talk as if zombies (or vairants thereof) and inherrently and empirically a bad thing, and that anyone nout as peeved as you must be in denial.
So its a game with zombies in it. So what? That doesn't define everything it is and everything it isn't, any more than a game is defined by having guns, cars, robots or talking animals.
What did zombies ever do to you?

"Still, I think it's funny how every ND fan denies it featuring an element that has been used way too much lately in games"
Almost all games are based on the same core features. You are way exagerating hugely about how often zombies turn up in games. Living enemy soldiers running about with guns and grenades feature waaaaaaay more frequently, I assure you.

Jesus CHRIST!! That video is the freakiest thing I've seen in a long ol' time, and my skin doesn't crawl easily. Note that at the end it mentions that species specific parasites such as that prevent one dominant species getting too out of hand....... nobody qualifies for that spot more than we humans. Our time is coming, mark my words
On the wider subject of ants being weird, I saw a nature programme a while ago that showed ant behavioour in rain forests. one of the things is covered was a type of ant that, when meeting an enemy colony, would spray them with a secreted chemical instead of fighting. The chemical would make the enemy ants stop "being" enemy ants and start "being part of the rival colony. We've all learned at school that ants behaviour is controlled a great deal by chemical signals that they emit and receive from each other. Well the crazy ant chemical essentially reprogrammed the responses of the rical ant - it simply stopped listening to the signals of its own colony and started listening to the new signals. Ants + borg = THAT.

I am overreacting, I know. I just hoped they had made something really interesting. And yeah, it still probably is great when it comes out. It could just been more.

Its neither a good thing, nor a bad thing. The point I am making is that almost EVERYTHING is in games a bit too often if you look at it the right way. Games really aren't as original as we would like to think, and if we focus our eyes in the right way, we will simply see that truth revealed

The last quote on the video is particular chilling: "Parasites like these stop any one animal getting the upper hand. The more numerous a species becomes the more likely it will be attacked by it's nemesis a cordyceps fungus ..."

I'm sorry, but what is it with having to swear to make a point these days? And about getting praised for the Uncharted 3 storyline over its mechanics? You're lucky that was one of the only redeemable merits of the game...
