Zack & Wiki Flash demo
Try it. Then buy it.
Nintendo has cobbled together a Flash demo of Zack & Wiki for you to try.
Adventure over to the official website and go to the "gameplay" tab and select "Play a demo level" to give it a whirl.
It should give you a good idea of the sorts of puzzles you will come across in the full game, although you will be without the motion-sensing controls of the Wii, obviously.
Zack & Wiki is an adventure game from Capcom that we called "far and away the best original IP on the Wii".
Its clever conundrums, sense of humour, gorgeous presentation and well thought-out Wiimote waggling made it a thorough recommendation from us.
Pop over to our Zack & Wiki review to find out more.

Great idea though! Just not my kind of thing at all I'm afraid.

I saw it in Morrisons on day one of release and then couldn't find it anywhere

Imagine every time you clicked something that wasn't correct, the level restarted. That's what the game becomes after about half way through.

This, but louder and with swearing.
Played it for a couple of hours until it annoyed me so much, I couldn't any more.

the wonky sword fighting bits, and death round every corner - grr!

Shame nice concept.

It has much promise, but chucks it all away with illogical puzzles, terrible gesture recognition and a needless old school attitude to mistakes (mistake = death = restart from beginning of level)
It could have been brilliant too

This is one you've just got to be in the mood for. And you've got to accept that dying over and over is just part of the mechanics. (I also had to realize that the most annoying bits - the WiiMote wiggling rythym game crap - are optional.)
A Flash demo... strange idea since I think a lot of the charm will be lost in the translation. Some puzzles will work, but some of the best ones will not.

it was okay. .good fun.. original.. and we NEED to see more of these types of innovative fun (non shooting) games on ALL the platforms.
But insta-death for just experimenting with different things was a bad idea. Yes i know you can buy clown tokens to restart from where you left off.. but in a game where you NEED to do trial and error that was too much.
As was the "only 3 attempts to do boss fights" thing. The ice mirror section was ridiculously unforgiving!
So good.. And i'd recommend playing it (i've even beat it.. finally .. and without cheating).. but not great (I didnt bother going back to get 100% by finding all the secrets before selling it 2nd hand)

Alas, I don't think this has sold too well - I read somewhere recently that Capcom has discontinued production of it
