Wii Fit Plus gets European date

End of October.

Nintendo has announced that Wii Fit Plus will be released on 30th October in Europe.

The game's due out in the US on 4th October.

Wii Fit Plus adds 15 new balance games and six new strength-training and yoga activities. It allows you to customise routines, isolate specific body parts and combine up to 30 exercises in saved routines.

It also introduces a calorimeter for measuring daily progress. According to Nintendo, the game estimates that a person with a 70kg body weight doing the Hula Hoop exercise for half an hour burns 140kcal.

Plus it all comes with the Wii balance board, which can be used in other games like Shaun White Snowboarding.

Look out for our review closer to release.

Still not sure on Wii Fit, I seem to be getting pretty good results on EA Sports active, which focuses on more cardio exercises, though.

I guess this is the 'biggie' Nintendo were advising retailers to set aside shelf space for come Xmas. Let the good times roll...(weeps)

As the British are the fattest nation in Europe (honestly, bloody look at yourselves), and the original Wii Fit was a sales phenomenon in this country, I can only assume that this piece of software will be utter garbage and nonsense too.

"Eurogamer, You might want to tell your seemingly partner company shopto to stop putting up false prices on your page. The price is currently on there as £17.49 with a RRP of £49.99. "

While you're there can you also tell them to pull their fingers out of their arses and sort out that problem preventing people with a flat number in their credit card address not being able to order anything from them for the last 2 months?

At the risk of being shunned by the 'hardcore' gamers... I really like Wii Fit. The core concept behind it is sound, it makes exercise routines less tedious and it works well in family settings. No, it's not a substitute for a trip to the gym but that's not really the idea. It's a motivational tool that makes it easy to track your weight and easy to get in a little extra exercise when you have some spare time. Use it as part of an overall exercise / diet program and it works superbly well. Wii Fit Plus is only an incremental update, really it should be DLC but of course the Wii can't do that owing to lack of HDD, but it's being priced right and provides some nice upgrades. The workout routine settings alone will be worth it to a lot of users.

@rhubarbandcustard: That's because Wii Fit worked so well they got hungry and ate the balance board.
I found the old Wii fit quite good in small doses (30mins) and far more convenient than a gym.
Is there a version of the software without balance board? Already got one unless the new board is an upgrade.

So long as Louise Rednkapp does the advert for it, I'll be happy.

Well as I swiftly turn my head up and to the left you can consider yourself utterly shunned! No no, not listening!

Well while we're all being shunned - I actually thought wii music was a good entertainment product!

So... Does this include all the exercises from the original WiiFit?
