WAR beta closing tomorrow

New phase in December.

EA Mythic has said it will be closing the Warhammer Online beta tomorrow, before opening up a new phase of testing in December.

The developer has compiled all of your feedback to date and is ready to make some big changes to the game, so the next version should look considerably better.

Specifically, EA Mythic will be brushing-up open field skirmishes and battlefield objectives; providing us with more customisation options - both ability and appearance based; keep on enhancing the public quest system; and prepare pointy-eared elves for their release into the world.

All current testers will be invited back when testing kicks into gear again, alongside many new faces.

Keep your eyes on the official European Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning website for more information.

Alternatively you can adventure over to our Warhammer Online gamepage for piles of videos, screenshots and coverage.

Hmmm first time I've heard that a major brand closes beta for almost 2 months. Hope WHO won't be delayed again ;)

naw - alot of early beta's do this to make HUGE world/server changes and implement the next phase of new features ready to be tested again.

I've played in beta's that follow drastically different testing procedures ranging from companies that only bring their servers online for 1 or 2 days a week for a mere few hours on - to ones that (like WAR) take their servers offline for a few months and bring them up again later.

Can anyone share some impressions on the beta?

Doubt it Hamflank, most betas are covered by Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA's). I would not be in the least surprised that Warhammer Online has a pretty strict NDA due to the level of interest surrounding it.

    I'm in the beta myself.

Yes, it has a very strict NDA!
  • Kami #6 5 years ago

Obviously not strict enough. Some betas even forbid you by NDA to even mention you're in the beta!

I do like a good beta test, especially closed betas. Minus hordes of unknowing (insert insult of your choice here) flooding in with stupid questions and bitching when you try to provide constructive feedback...

I'm sorry, flashback to a beta I'd rather forget...

Well, the policy with the WAR beta is that you can say two things:

    1) There is a Beta

    2) Whether or not you're in it

    That's about it o_O
