UK charts: Just Dance denies BFBC2

Dancing more popular than war death.

Just Dance is at the top of the UK all-formats chart again, after a week devoid of any noteworthy new challengers.

Incidentally, we're sorry the charts are a little late.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 moved up a space into second and elbowed Just Cause 2 down into third. Modern Warfare 2 remained in fourth, followed by Wii Sports Resort in fifth and Wii Fit Plus in sixth.

Pokemon SoulSilver was seventh and Pokemon HeartGold ninth - the pair interrupted by FIFA 10 in eighth. New Super Mario Bros. rounded the chart out in 10th.

The release of the Borderlands DLC double-pack didn't reinstate Gearbox's game back in the top 40 and, surprisingly, the year-and-a-half late boxed release of Torchlight has been overlooked by people in shops with money.

Sakura Wars, last week's only real new entry, isn't anywhere to be seen.

Dancing, more popular than shooting ...

This is really funny. They could just watch one of those silly dance programs instead.

What the fuck? Has anyone else got the screencap for the 'Just Dance reveal trailer' under the charts? What's with that old woman, she looks sinister as fuck! Literally the stuff of nightmares, infact she looks like the crazy old zombie woman from the Rec movies. *shudder*

Captain, I was similarly freaked out by that image.

Also, people should be buying the Pokemon games for their kids, because unlike Just Dance, they are brilliant.

She wants to suck out my soul with her demonic eyes and drooling gums of horror!

PS - Just Dance is a pile of cack but I couldn't help but love bopping along to 'You Cant Touch This' at my mate's recent 30th. Might have been to do with the cocktails mind....

You do know what a game is, right?

Should they buy Pokemon to play with their friends at parties?

I don't want to come to your parties. ;)

FFS this pisses me off. BFBC2 should be at Number 1 ONE!!!!
Bought 2 copies the other for my brother.
  • Sid-Nice #11 2 years ago

I've now bought 6 copies of Just Dance; just to keep the FPS shit from making the No1 spot.
  • Octoroc #12 2 years ago

    They shoot horses don't they?
  • Macdory #13 2 years ago

I'm assuming that PC downloads still don't get recorded in the charts?

Way to compare apples with pears !

Fair enough. I personally think this title (Just Dance) is hopeless but people shouldn't be so snobbish. If the game sells well its only a bi-product of the Wii's popularity and inevitable. Gamers who are self proclaimed "hardcore" should take their head out of the clouds...games are a business!
  • kangarootoo #15 2 years ago

    @higgins78

Its not just that games are a business, it is also the case that shit loads of people that play Just Dance genuinely have fun doing so. They aren't sheep, they aren't dumb, they no doubt couldn't care less whether they are "real gamers" or not. They just enjoy playing the game, and consequently they play it for EXACTLY the same reasons that those who play MW2 or WoW do so.

As a game that exists to entertain, it is every bit as valid as an FPS. That it makes good business sense is an extra.

very, very weird that pokémon SoulSilver sales so much more than HeartGold.

I'm roaming Kanto as of now. The game is excellent, as expected.
