Two new Clancy games already in dev
Ubisoft brand man opens gob.
Ubisoft has apparently already begun working on a further two Tom Clancy games.
That's what brand boss Michel Verheijdt told Dutch site Control Online. "At this moment I'm working on two Tom Clancy games which have just gone in development," he said (translated by Eurogamer Benelux).
"I can't say anything about it, or I'll have to send Sam Fisher after you."
With Splinter Cell: Conviction just out of the door and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier penned for this autumn, that limits Ubisoft's options.

Don't be fooled by his plain features: Clancy is a killer and spans multiple genres.
Available IP includes long-running franchise Rainbow Six or newcomers EndWar and HAWX. Ubisoft could, however, create something entirely new. What about Tom Clancy's Secret Diary?
We'll pester the publisher for comment.

The ending shows the hero fail in his mission so he sods off to pay for other publishers games.

I'd like a "rainbow six - cute bears in wonderland", involving shooting flowers at people and moving at the same time by just pressing one button. Then 2 hours of 1 button QTE and we'd win.
Ubi I just so much hate you for what you did to ghost recon ,rainbow 6 and SC I'm starting to get bad

Hopefully the new one (if they are making one) will have a new setting, graphics engine and new plot, and get rid of those crafty 'spawn behind you' enemies in Terrorist Hunt, I hate those guys!

The Vegas games are great but having his name attached to them has put me off a bit.

The only author I hold in lower regard for selling out is Thomas Harris.

Will likely be a quick Splinter Cell follow up using as much of the code and assets from Conviction as possible and a new Rainbow Six, that's just how Ubi does things these days.

No worries there, the parade of ghost writers using Clancy's name did that years ago. Not that his books were anything more than expensive toilet paper when he was doing them.

After all, his name (in print, film and games, but I'm on about the games here) was built on some seriously hardcore shit.
Rainbow Six, after all, with its in-depth pre-mission planning stages, bullet penetration and quick death. Or Ghost Recon, with commanding soldiers as opposed to just being one with a few AI buddies. Hell, the ancient Red Storm Rising game is still highly regarded as one of the best nuclear sub sims - that it also told a compelling tale of WW3 taking place all around your was a bonus.
Now we have it all going too far into silly fantasy territory - and away from stuff that (at least seemed to be) plausible and grounded. They're also becoming a bit too dumbed-down for my liking. Whereas before they sat just on the accessible side of hardcore, the goodness is being diluted by the ongoing perception that everything has to appeal to obnoxious 12 year olds.

Those're my bets anyway. Fuck you
