Skate 2 coming in January News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 News by Ellie Gibson

26 November, 2008

The sequel to EA's Hawkbusting skateboarding game has been given a January release date.

If you can't wait that long there's always the Graphics Creator to play with. This is a web-based application which lets you customise graphics for in-game hats, "decks" and shirts. It's due to launch next month on Skate.ea.com.

Skate 2 is set in the city of New San Vanelona, which is being rebuilt following a disaster. There are double the amount of tricks to play with, and you'll be able to get off your board and move objects around in the environment.

The game will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3 from January 23rd in Europe. Americans will get Skate 2 two days earlier and, if they pre-order, they'll get a special code to unlock the Throwback Pack, which includes retro clothing and accessories. There's no word on whether anything similar is planned for us lot.

First one was awesome, so this one should be even better.

I am really looking forward to this.

Unless they have completely fucket it up. BTW not many previews for a game only a month or so away.

Despite loving the first game, I didn't give myself enough time doing missions, mostly due to the way the game was structured and as such still have a lot more to get out of the game. But being able to get of the board is enough to warrant another purchase I think.

I loved skate. Brilliant game, but lots of potential for improvement which makes me very optimisitic about Skate 2.

strangely challenging for an EA game. I got up to the Big Rob Pro Skate challenge and gave up. Now, do I trade it in, while it still has some trade in value and keep the credit note for Skate 2, or do I go back to it and complete it?

I am loathe to get rid of a game before completing it....

Only played the demo of the first. Liked it but what stopped me from getting it was that you couldn't get off the board. Heard they will address that in part 2 so will probably pick this one up once it's cheap (as this is more of a filler game for me).

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

I didn't think this would be coming until March/April first one was GOTY last year for me.
Also I'm one of those that thought the Rob + Big Black challenge was one of the much better, more skilful challenges.
Heres hoping for more of them!

I loved the original as well, but I'm not sure I'm going to pick this up for some reason. I don't really know why I feel like that... maybe come January I'll feel differently. The online ought to be much better though please EA.
