Scribblenauts UK release date
Summoned in September.
Warner Bros. has told Eurogamer that ambitious DS puzzle game Scribblenauts will be released in the UK on 25th September.
Scribblenauts is a side-scrolling game where the player has to try and get hold of "Starites" by summoning objects into the world.
The twist is that you are supposed to be able to summon just about anything you can think of by writing its name on the screen with the stylus. Ladders, beavers, taxis, hats, etc. As developer 5th Cell demonstrated when we took a look recently, there's an amazingly vast number of things to summon, and they're all supposed to act as you would expect.
We've just taken delivery of a recent build of the game with 40 out of around 220 levels included, so look out for more of our thoughts on Scribblenauts in the days ahead.

I still don't understand why handheld releases arn't targeted for the school holidays. It would mean more release windows and people are more likely to buy a new handheld game if they're going away! (or at least I am, just got Worms 2 for when i take the kids away, ACE.)

Cos school holidays are the times when all the kids are playing GTA and Manhunt, getting drunk on park benches, daisy-chaining and looking at pr0n on their PSPs. I think a handheld game is quite low down on their priorities list.
