Rising Star unveils Wii-exclusive RPG News

Wii News by Robert Purchese

13 June, 2008

Rising Star Games has plans to deliver an exclusive fantasy role-playing adventure on Wii.

It's called Little King's Story and is made by Marvelous Entertainment, who gave us various Harvest Moon games.

It will be out here early next year and tells the story of a young boy who finds he has magical powers when he puts a crown on. His adventure begins after he becomes king and returns to the village he grew up in.

In a mixture of real-time strategy and simulation, your task is to expand your village into a wonderful kingdom, fending off any rival nations in your goal of uniting the land.

"Little King's Story has an art style that is very 'story-book' in look and one that we feel will be universally loved. The game has a fairytale quality that will intrigue and delight gamers the world around," said Marvelous boss Yasuhiro Wada.

Sounds quite promising.

Charming graphics, interesting concept, and a dream team staff (see wiki entry). Looking forward to this.
My Life as a King is just a "light" version to what Project O will offer, and Project O was earlier in development than My Life as a King.

What's with this "unveiling" if the game has been known about for a long time? There have been screenshots and trailers and everything, I don't see what kind of new information this post offers.

Nikanoru, a company that is willing to publish this promising title in Europe is big news, to me at least.

The news title is a bit misleading. The real news is that there is a publisher for Europe now, the game was unveiled quite some time ago.

Oh I see, that makes more sense indeed. Could've done with a better title/description, yes.

The US publisher is holding an UMA (unidentified mysterious animal) art contest, 1 will be an in-game character, while 99 other selections will be featured in the in-game museum, I think that's quite neat.
