Prototype comic book coming

Wildstorm in charge of drawing.

New best friends Sierra Entertainment and DC Comics have decided to make upcoming game Prototype into a comic book series.

WildStorm will be drawing the pictures, and is ever so excited about getting to grips with the shape-shifting anti hero.

"We're blown away with what Sierra and developer Radical Entertainment have shown us of Prototype, and know with absolute certainty that this will make for a terrific comic book," said Hank Kanalz, boss of WildStorm. "Prototype's back-story, visuals and gameplay are stunning, and we have every intention of bringing those core pillars to our book."

Prototype casts you as Alex Mercer in a modern-day representation of New York. As in Crackdown you can bound across rooftops and as in Grand Theft Auto you can run around the city stealing cars.

But unlike any other game you can eat your foes and consume their powers - learn to fly by gobbling up a pilot, for example. Added to this are other out of control monsters also infected by your virus called Brawlers. It all makes for a promising three-way battle between you, them and the army.

It's supercharged gameplay is appealing, then, and you can find out much more about it in our Prototype preview.

Prototype is due out on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year.
