RS Vegas PSP delayed News

PSP PlayStation 3 News by Tom Bramwell

22 November, 2006

Rainbow Six Vegas is one of the more eagerly anticipated next-gen shooters of the next few weeks, but ironically Ubisoft's not enjoying much luck with it - as the PSP version continues to slip, and reports from the US suggest the PS3 edition's been held up too.

The Xbox 360 and PC versions of Vegas are now due out in Europe on 1st December (the 360 having been originally down for this Friday), but the PSP version is listed as 15th December in Ubisoft's latest schedule - confirmed by retailers.

Meanwhile, the UK branch of the French publisher doesn't actually list the PS3 version yet, expecting it to ship at launch next March, but reports from the US suggest it's no longer due out in the PS3's current "launch window". Which puts it in good company at least, alongside the likes of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Eek.

R6 Lockdown was a terrible game. Does Vegas go in a different direction?

Played the demo the game looks to be pretty wicked! Never really played any of the others so not sure how it compares, I will definately give this one a look after GoW.

PS3 heads, I wouldn't worry too much as long as the version is up to the scratch of the 360 version it will be worth the wait!!

Ironically, from the screenies, the PSP version seems more faithful to the series of old than the home console & PC versions. Shame it'll never have the same waypoint system of old.

Old news. It's already been confirmed as a slip for the PS3. When asked the devs said PS3 online "should work"...

All these PS3 games slipping to March 2007... nice for any potential UK PS3-only owners I guess... assuming the machine itself isn't delayed further, of course.
