Quantic Dream cans Infraworld

But Omikron 2's still on track.

The COO of Quantic Dream has revealed that Infraworld, its previously announced title for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, has been canned.

In an interview with German website Working-Title, Guillaume de Fondaumiere said: "Infraworld, at date, is cancelled. The concept did not appeal to publishers."

However, De Fondaumiere said that Omikron 2, which was announced at the same time as Infraworld, is still on track and is now titled Karma. But don't expect to see it on the shelves until 2009 - Quantic Dream is working on another as yet unnamed title first.

"We have a production set but I cannot divulge the name or details on the project," said De Fondaumiere.

"But it is an original franchise of ours, a game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PSP and PC systems."

A sequel to Fahrenheit, maybe? De Fondaumiere declined to comment, but seeing as the first game proved so popular it's always a possibility...

    I certainly hope it isn't Fahrenheit. That game was a bag of balls.

    There were faaaar more good than bad things in Fahrenheit, can't see how they could go wrong with a sequel. I would give it a go for sure

    Did "Fahrenheit" actually shift many units?

    i think fahrenheit did reasonably well in term of sales, an i for one thoughrly enjoyed it.

    Bring on the sequal!!!

    Whatever you say about Fahrenheit (I really enjoyed it myself), it was at least different. My only concerns with a sequel is that it will no longer be different. It's a sequel after all. So if this is a sequel they are working on (which it certainly sounds like it is) I hope they can put right some of problems of the first game.

    Fahrenheit was only a dissapointment for those who fell for the hype.

    For the rest of us it was truly an entertaining experience.

    Although I wouldn't want a Fahrenheit II - we don't like sequels, remember?

    A new game with the same concept, that would be wonderful.

    @paulomatic

    lol, sharply put.

    @disc
    "and the stealth-missions"

    Amen to that.

    I didn't fall for the hype. I had high hopes for a while, then I read the David Cage interviews ont his site and he really got on my tits (I was ranting to anyone who would listen, as well as on these boards, I tell thee). Then I played the game, played it all the way through, but had plenty of winges. Occasionally got annoyed and stopped playing for a bit. Scoffed at the immature dialogue throughout. I think I was entertained, but truly isn't really appropriate. "Sometimes" is probably a better choice.

    Man, if DC turns out to be my long lost father (my Dad is actually alive and well in a known location, plus I think DC is probably only 5 or so years older than me, so its unlikely) how awkward is that first conversation going to be.

    Ah nuts, I've killed this thread because I just can't shut up about that game. You would think Fahrenheit put dog poo through my letterbox or something, the way I carry on.

    I loved Fahrenheit. All of it.
  • dudefella #11 6 years ago

    I loved Fahrenheit except for the stealth stuff which drove me mad. The wierd plot bits at about two thirds of the way through was not as good as the first parts of the game, but it didn't ruin it for me or anything. For the sequel: Less buttonmashing/simon says and more adventury/down-to-earth plots plz. I'd be happy.

    The lack of a save/load system, the rather anoying control system (and I do mean "move the mouse to perform the action";) and the DDR sequences turned me off of Fahrenheit real fast, I never made it out of the apartment.

    But from what I read Quantic Dream is going down that road so anything from then is no longer a option for me.
