Watch the E3 Metal Gear trailer

Is this the end for Solid Snake?

The Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer shown at Sony's pre-E3 press conference is now yours to view via Eurogamer TV - and it's well worth checking out.

We won't spoil it for you, other than to say that the trailer suggests a political theme to the game, a bit of mech action and the return of some old friends. And as for the ending...

If that doesn't satisfy your appetite for PS3, you can also watch the Sony conference in its entirety - just head on over to Eurogamer TV.

I bet the codec conversations will be great in 'The true HD'

That last image is absolutely gripping stuff!

The trailer looks phenomenal. Compaired to the TGS trailer I noted these things :

    - less particle FX ; less dust, papers & debris flying around
    - less pronounced normal mapping & less specular highlights

About story & characters : at the end of MGS2 Snake stated he lives on to pass on meme. Why has he turned 180 degrees in MGS4 to erase meme ?

I hope the Konami E3 presentation does feature real gameplay since this trailer still doesn't show any concrete answers.

yeah but at least he looks cool in that ninja costume!

What the hell is wrong with raiden's lower jaw?

kojima's style looks much better than current "aaa" directors like ridley scott, etc. the long shot is a great example, like Cloudane noted!

I did not think it was possible for Raiden to look more effeminate. I was wrong.

There is a "gay" in "ningya".

It looks like he has some sort of protection piece over his chin and lower teeth. Scary future stuff!

The trailer is very impressive, probably the most wanted PS3 game right now.

is it just me or snake is older since the last mgs4 trailer

and Raiden seems to have crossed the border to the other side, i dont think protecting is a good thing when its said by him

If Kojima kills Snake I'm gonna cry my eyes out. but it would be really cool! :)

Snake is already dead. He died after being shot by a russian balaclava dude in MGS2... According to my experience, anyway.

Yep. Didn't reload from the check point after that.

Snake is already dead. He died of boredom playing the previous two games.

Well now. The first reason to get excited about the PS3. Very cool stuff. I just hope that the final images aren't merely a ploy to get me all interested. That would be quite a thing to do to a top-selling franchise. (But no, this still doesn't top MGS2's spine-chilling trailer.

Then again, Kojima must be bored to death of MGS, so I guess he can do whatever the hell he wants to with it, if only he agrees to direct it.

If this gets you excited, wait until the 15 minute trailer is released around 19:00 GMT today on konami's MGS site.
