Bungie hints at E3 excitement

Secrecy annoys them too.

Whether or not Microsoft announces Halo 3 at its pre-E3 conference - and the common consensus is that it will - there will probably be something for Bungie fans to check out judging by a weekly update to the developer's website.

"As for our next project, it continues apace. Lots of progress in every department, from UI to Animation to Engineering and of course, all the way back to audio," said Bungie, having been yacking about audio earlier in the update.

"There are things to see in every department, some rough and ready and some astonishingly smooth, polished and even playable.

"It's really making progress in an exciting and fascinating way. And I can't wait to share that with you properly. The level of secrecy is every bit as oppressive and confining for us as it is for you. Much, much bigger update next week. See you then!" Yeah bye cheers!

If they are excited it mustn't be Halo3 related ;)

They've previously said that they are working/wanting to work on a non-halo game. I hope they got the chance to do that rather than just be stuck doing Halo alone, as great a series as it may be.....i'd like to see them tackle something a little different.

"So Halo 3 massively multiplayer warfare over the entire universe."

Wow, you got that from that bit of info? You MUST be smart. ;p

A new marathon game would be nice. Very real to imo. I mean, the Halo universe reaching its closure with part 3 and all. MS and bungie must be looking at new franchises and what better to use than marathon?

" So Halo 3 massively multiplayer warfare over the entire universe."

I read of that also, I hope it's not true though, I would rather prefer to have a sequel, that'd maintain the story line, wich is good.

Well, bungie hinted at mission based online play* like the original concept (Human vs cov -> 100-something players). Perhaps thats where the rumors come from?

*A while ago in an interview, not mentioning H3 or something, just that they where exploring it or something iirc.

"So Halo 3 massively multiplayer warfare over the entire universe."

So we'll be able to play against klingons, wookies, aliens and predators? Not to mention martians?

Oh, you meant the universe in the GAME.

Hope it's better than Stubbs the Zombie.. that was so dull after a while. I'd much rather a new IP than Halo but MS will think differently.

You do know Stubbs wasn't made by Bungie, right? It was made by Wideload games which was founded by one of the two founder members of Bungie (can't remember his name; Alex someone).

Anyway, I can't say I'm excited about this new Bungie news. Halo 3, meh. A new IP, could be better. Let's just hope it's not another shooter; I think the 360 is catered for those well enough right now.
