360 taster a month pre-release.

Those of you looking to try out Ubisoft's latest Rainbow Six title, Vegas, won't have long to wait - with a playable demo set to go live on 23rd October in Europe.

The Rainbow Six Vegas demo features part of the "Dante's Casino" level, where the idea (with bold and underlining in our press release) is to observe, plan and assault the terrorists hiding out in the Gothic-themed casino.

Ubisoft's latest release schedule puts Rainbow Six Vegas out on both Xbox 360 and PC from 17th November, although the PSP version has slipped to 8th December. A PlayStation 3 version will be available for the console's European launch next March.

I'll take a look, but both single and multiplayer from Lockdown put me off the RS series. They were atrocious and ubisoft have decided to do Vegas the same because they thought it was great (sigh!).

Dont build your hopes up. TeamXbox is saying that the demo in October is through OXM with the Marketplace demo being due in Novemeber.

Tom, any more info? Are we Europeans getting a better deal?

Let's be fair. Rainbox Six 3 was a great game back in the day, and Black Arrow built upon nicely, particulalry with regards to the multiplayer. But since then... Well, the less said, the better.

I loved RS 3, and hated Lockdown but I also hated what they did to Ghost Recon in GR2. Hopefully this "return to what it does best" theme that worked so well for GRAW will show it's head again in this.

I loved Ghost Recon 2. It was a lot more accessible than the original games, whilst still retaining that uber hardcore air. Summit Strike is the best GR game I've ever played. And I've played 'em all.

It's gonna be more of the same, innit?

They should spice Rainbow six up a bit, a mission on the ISS, summat like that. Rogue Spear was ace. The Ruski snow base mission was tremendous, and the 747.

Yeh, as pointed out, without sounding anal, the title of this news item is wrong. RS6 says Rainbow Six Six. Unless that was intentional and that's what number Rainbow Six game this actually is...

Needs to feel like Black Arrow. Needs to look like Black Arrow too - by that I mean very CLEAN and CRISP. That was the big win in the old games, you could see everything, none of this overshaded blurred mess as seen in Lockdown. I have a feeling Vegas will be unplayably dark though - people dressed in black, in dark rooms, hiding against black walls, in the shadows. Affects SDTV owners badly in many games this generation, because we actually have contrast. The setting might hurt it too - not much room for map variation when it's all set in a city.

Still approaching this cautiously...Lockdown as already stated was a complete disgrace. I was a huge fan of Rainbow Six 3. They need to concentrate on multiplayer like they did back then. That was what made it great. Why they felt they had to change so much stuff is behond me.

I heard they are introducing rechargable energy bars (ala Halo) in R6 Vegas...if they do I won't buy it.
