Plus: ICO re-release dated.

Sony has announced that Shadow of the Colossus, the long-awaited follow-up to cult classic ICO, will be heading to European PS2s on February 17th.

And to celebrate the release, Sony will also be re-issuing ICO on the same day - so it won't be going for silly money on eBay any more, hurrah!

Shadow of the Colossus, for those who don't know, is an epic adventure that's all about killing giants. And it's absolutely brilliant - check out the review if you want to know why. In fact, it's so good it was our third favourite game of the year, don't you know. Pre-ordering's probably favourite.

I doubt it will effect the prices on Ebay. I can see them re-releasing ICO in a normal PS2 box or one of those 'Platinum' boxes. Wouldn't make the original version with the postcards any less collectable. Still thats only a presumtion

It isn't just their collectability, people really want to play the game and often the only way is to pay silly prices on ebay. Once widely available the ebay prices will drop a bit as it'll only be collectors.

Tweakmonkey i remember year and years ago when i was a kid on pocketmoney and for my dad's bday went out to get him a vhs video from hmv... instead of buying him a brand new �15 film in the charts, got him a cheaper one and thought i could get away with it! (wasn't as easy to spot as cinema club lol)

the family sat down to watch it and the start of the tape had "OTHER FILMS IN THE CHEAP ASS COLLECTION INCLUDE!!" .....gutted lol.

I got him and my mother an alpine skiier for xmas tho which cost a few hundred quid so i guess i get to balance things out as im older lol

Something is really screwed with me as I'm considering buying them again. Even though I have both Ico (paper pal) and Sotc (canadian ntsc).

You're not the only one

The case is falling apart on my ltd Ico and my copy of SotC arrived in an disappointing state, so that's my incentive... Well, that and "supporting UK sales"

actualy there are some games with such great covers
that everytime i pass by them i feel the urge to grab a copy
even though i already own them!

this happens to me all the time with the first GTA for ps2
