TrackMania compilation coming

All games and add-ons included.

The TrackMania United website has revealed details of the new compilation that's set to include all the previously released games and add-ons in the series.

According to the site, "The Stadium environment from TrackMania Nations, already played by millions of players, will benefit from a new version with twice more blocks". You can also expect "a whole new set of functionalities both for online and solo play".

And that's not all - the MediaTracker will let you create cinematic sequences and replay movies, and you'll be able to enhance your tracks with music, pictures and videos. The Model Importer can be used to import vehicles, Painter does what it says on the tin, and the integrated Peer2Peer network will let you share your creations with other TrackMania fans.

Apparently the first TrackMania game was created for "fun", the second for "sensations", and the third one for "sport" - and TrackMania United, apparently, will be "Existential".

Eh? Well, according to the website, "a game that is not Existential is the same as a book that is not read".

Eh, again? "By playing TrackMania United, your action will exist, you will exist. You will have a ranking on every track in your God's forsaken place at the end of the world. Your creations will be rated by the players. You will receive news about the oncoming competitions, to compete or to watch." You'll also get to track the progress of the best players, otherwise known as the "Mania Stars", and follow your team's ranking.

"Whether you are in contact with other players or not, your actions will have an impact on the TrackMania world, and you will have a reaction from them."

The dev team is promising to "do some incomprehensible nonsensical stuff that will not necessary give anything worthwhile anyway". Brilliant.

"But we are going forward, exploring new possibilities, and we are sure we will find new rock solid concepts with the most constructive community ever."

A release date for TrackMania United has yet to be announced.

Sounds good. I still haven't got round to really getting into this. Got the first from some newspaper offer and was loving it to be honest. Will get this I think.

StarForce 4 has already been cracked, so Florent and company at Nadeo... please don't put f*cking SF protection in again, it will be cracked just the same and the only ones that are going to suffer it are the ones buying the game (and it won't be me if comes with SF).

hylis (or anyone from Nadeo), if you do show up, could you please send me an email (jonfe at smmnet dot com)? Thanks in advance.

Agreed, I'd like to buy this, but I won't if Starforce is used again.

I was really pissed when I found that Trackmania Nations had Starforce. I mean, it's a free download, why does it need any protection at all?
  • jack_klugman #7 6 years ago

Danj - It does have an online multiplayer component though which could be compromised by hacks.
  • Willum #8 6 years ago

God, only eight posts in and already with the Starforce moaning.

Anyway, the game will rock. About time I had a game to look forward to again.

Already having TM1 and TM2 and their add-on packs, are they expecting me to buy them all over again?

Of course they bloody are :(

I love the approach that Trackmania brings to racing games.

Unfortunately I'll add to the chorus of voices and say that I won't be picking it up if it uses StarForce protection.

Letīs hope the drop starforce for the release. Or Im guessing many people wont touch the game.

    Hi people.

What is this game it looks interesting and where do I get it from?

I used to love Trackmania, until they started using StarForce.
    Please don't use StarForce Nadeo!

"I used to love Trackmania, until they started using StarForce."

See, that sentence right there, doesn't make any sense.

StarForce has always been in TrackMania.

Well, I've run it without any problems and I'm enjoying it, if you choose not to play the game because of the copy-protection, that is your choice, but you are then missing out on a great game.
  • sickpuppysoftware #15 6 years ago

I've got the first two but I'll gladly get this one if it doesn't have starforce. I won't play my existing copies thanks to my old CD driver mysteriously stopping working after installing the second game. I'm not taking a chance with my new drive.

Please, please, please don't put it on.

I'll have to buy this - i've played the shite out of TMN so I really need to buy this.
  • JonFE #17 6 years ago

Since I don't see anyone from Nadeo, yet, I'll be asking you guys.

I've purchased the original TrackMania (2003's version, in the red DVD case) back in February, directly from Nadeo's online shop, in order to update it to TMO (TrackMania Original). Well, to cut a long story short, after installation it, just, will not launch; if I try to start it either through the start menu shortcut or the autoplay menu, it just eats 50% of PC's resources and does nothing. No error messages, no blank screen, nothing... If I try to kill its process in Task Manager, the PC will require a hardware reset...

This happens whether I leave the game unpatched, or patched to either the PowerUp! or the tmOriginal version.

I'm possitive that StarForce is to blame, yet tmSunrise and tmNations run without any problems... Any ideas?
  • asphaltcowboy #18 6 years ago

Hmmm... sounds odd. But TMS and TMN are so much better than the original (which I didn't really like)!
  • Talha #19 6 years ago

I will add my heart-melting, earth-shattering tenor to this chorus of voices and say that Nadeo will be damned if they use StarForce on this one because no one will be buying it.

And by the way guys, those of you who are running it comfortably even with StarForce (all three of you).... well, you are just lucky. StarForce not only ate my hamster, it ate my DVD drive and my LEGIT copy of Splinter Cell: CT.
