MGS3 online leagues launch News

PlayStation 2 News by Tom Bramwell

22 January, 2007

Konami has announced the launch of a series of Metal Gear Solid 3 tournaments using the multiplayer mode in the recently released Subsistence version.

MGS3League.com tournaments will consist of three challenges set over a two-week period, with exclusive Konami prizes available.

The site also has social networking pretensions, allowing you to jabber at one another in a forum, set up clans and your own tournaments, and jostle for position on an official league table.

It's multi-lingual too - English, French, German, Spanish and Italian - and open to anybody playing from a PAL territory, so if you've been looking for somewhere to show off your sneaking, give it a look.

Might revive my interest in MGS Subsistance.

I'll try it out.

Hmm... No. I'm still not buying the same game twice.

Incidentally, has it been disclosed which camera view the MGS4 game uses? Is it the Subsistence one - or the classic "broken" MGS one?

I already have subsistance. The problem I'm having is trying to find a network adapter in the shops or on the internet that doesn't cost a small fortune. There are only a few going on ebay for big money as far as I can see.

Looks like I'll have to slap the disc back in and get practicing.

and @jonsaan, does the 360 have a ps2 emulator now? I know most of the games are PS2 ports, but I think you're a little confused.

@Hughs

Why would I be confused in requesting a 360 version? I realise it's not available on the 360 hence the request for a version on 360.

with it having online features they may as well port it to a machine that has a decent online service.

Gonna have to buy Subsistance now after meaning to for months. Anyone know cheaper than Amazon's £25.99?

Well, jonsaan, if you'd rather have Kojima waste his time converting a 2 year old last gen game to 360 than the new project he seems interested in doing for it, good luck with that. But if you really want to play this game online, you'll need a PS2, but don't worry, the online works perfectly, and is free to play.
