Lost Videogame details

Sort of. Gah.

Details of the Lost Videogame have popped up after people who could be bothered to sit through all the tedium of the Season 3 box set unearthed a preview video on one of the extras DVDs.

Therein we discover (or IGN discovers, we should say, in case it's all wrong) that you play as a chap of unknown name and origin who has survived Oceanic Flight 815 along with Jack, Sawyer and all the red-shirts and has lost his memory.

In a nod to the show's typical format, you will apparently experience flashbacks to who you were as you work your way across the island, as well as meeting members of the cast, witnessing familiar events and ultimately experiencing an ending conceived by one of the show's co-creators. Is that a good thing?

Just kidding, Losties. We still love it for some reason, although Kate should never wear make-up, and Desmond is funnier when he's drunk. IGN also speculates that the Lost Videogame will be an adventure game.

It might seem weird that they have to, given that it's out next month on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 - Ubisoft can only say "February" for now - but then details are still few and far between due to the enormous secrecy that shrouds the Lost project.

The TV show itself, incidentally, resumes for Season 4 in the US at the end of this month. We're not sure what it all meant either. But, like Jack, we have to go back.

Bring on season 4! I'm glad the EG crew like it...not happy about the season 3 quip though. Tedium! Bah.
  • viper_h #3 4 years ago

Do people still watch this tripe?

Don't hold your breath for Season 4. The writer's strike means there's only eight episodes completed, and its unclear whether ABC is going to show those and then put the show on hiatus in the hope that the strike is resolved in time to restart production, or postpone the whole thing until they can finish the season.

You mean they actually _had_ writers?
  • Beano #7 4 years ago

@Lexx87: I loved season 1+2 but season 3 was a letdown IMO.... hopefully Season 4 will be better.

@DanWhitehead: Is far I as know, season is locked down to start january 31 in the US.

Season 3 was weak to start, but the final episodes were some of the strongest yet - and the willingness to completely break formula should mean that Season 4 will be really interesting. Even before the strike, the creators already reduced the number of episodes per season and set a definite timescale for when the show would finish, giving them space to avoid the fate of The X-Files and actually resolve everything.

Btw, is it known if season 4 will be the last season or not?
  • yupyup #10 4 years ago

I believe it's to run for 6 seasons, with 4-6 having 16 episodes each. Bring on Season 4 \o/
  • BM #11 4 years ago

They've said it's gonna be 6 seasons, but I think the next 3 are gonna be shorter than the 3 we've already seen. Good news for UK viewers with Sky is that they're showing season 4 just a few days after the US shows it. I think it's around 4th/5th February.

    ARGH I LOST THE GAME ;_;
  • jonsaan #13 4 years ago

Ooooh. Maybe it'll be just like the tv show.

You'll be playing a really great , involving level that you love when suddenly it drops you into a completely unrelated level that is boring and badly put together, a few seconds later you are back in the level you loved but this time playing as another character that you hate. Repeat ad infinitum.

They're definitely showing the first eight in of season 4 in the US starting the 31st January, I'm really excited.

I think season 3 was pretty wonderful, and even the oft-slagged slow start (which was no such thing for me) and more criticized eps had something going for them.

I'm not counting on the game being any good, but you never know. I had a lot of fun with 24: The Game so...

The blonde bird (Julie?) wears the most make-up, along side Sun. Since watching in HD you can see it even more.

Sometimes its CAKED on, especially during the outdoors jungle scenes.

I too have a love\hate relationship with the show. I don't want to like it, but already I'm curious about how Season 4 will open.

The whole makeup thing in Lost also irritates me... obviously some makeup is needed but it's very overdone og unrealistic for the women. Guess that just american mainstream tv-shows for you :|
  • neuroniky #17 4 years ago

    Well, anyway, Kate is beautiful.

Though for some strange reason (I don't like blondes normally), I like Sharon more.
  • Nath4n #18 4 years ago

You guys do realise that because of the writers strike season 4 is only going to be 8 episodes long?
And as for the 24 reference, unfortunately season 7 has been put on indefinate hold and may not even air at all this year :\

    Who the hell is Sharon?

    Boom! Boom!

@viper_h: I assume he means Shannon.

Lost sucks balls. Heroes is much better and its original. But a Heroes game would blow...just like all other games made from TV shows and films. (Majority of Star Wars games excluded because they're not based on the film plots)
  • Wyrm #24 4 years ago

Season 3 was much better than 2 and the finale was awesome, as good as anything in the show so far. Eurogamer gets a solid 'FAIL' for that comment.

I imagine this game will be awful though.
  • captainrentboy #25 4 years ago

Heroes better than Lost? HAHAHA, no.
Heroes managed just one decent-ish series(Which ended absolutely awfully), series 2 went down hill extremely fast, of the 11 episodes they've done so far for series/Episode 2, I think three of them I could've classed as good, the others were pretty darned awful.
Mexican Twins! Thats's all I need to say.
Ohh and Lost Season 3 had one of the finest Season finales I've ever seen.
