I Am Alive due out in 2011? News

PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3

Ubisoft's upcoming survival game I Am Alive may not be out until 2011, if one of its game designers' online profiles is accurate.

Arch internet-watcher superannuation today dug up the LinkedIn profile of Charles Gaudron, who lists himself as senior game designer at Darkworks, and has the following in his summary section: "I Am Alive (PS3/X360, Ubisoft, 2011)".

Ubisoft told Eurogamer this afternoon that we should refer to its recent financial report for the latest on the date. That put I Am Alive down for release in the company's next fiscal year, which runs from 1st April 2010 to 31st March 2011.

One small issue with all this, of course, is that Darkworks is no longer working on I Am Alive after the game was taken in-house to be completed by Ubisoft Shanghai.

Still, we hope it won't be too long, as we rather liked the look of I Am Alive when it was unveiled at E3 2008, going as far as to make it our pick of this year's adventure games in January before the slip was confirmed.

It's 5pm Friday. I guess this one was needed to make the post quota, as for anything of worth in it I can't see it.

A 2011 date wouldn't surprise me since we've seen nothing about this game other than the original reveal, a few concept shots and some unconfirmed screenshots.

One to keep an eye on though, looks pretty unique and be honest who doesn't enjoy those old disaster movies?

I do like the sound of this one, so hopefully a bigger delay = more spit and polish.

Changing devs in a game because a deadline isn't being met, only for said deadline, not to be met again.

This game is a little bit suspect.

Anyone with half a clue about development could have told them this would happen. It's not a possibility or a probability it's a certainty.
