God of War III to get 120-page script News

PlayStation 3 News by Ellie Gibson

16 September, 2008

Writer Marianne Krawczyk has revealed the script she's working on for God of War III will probably run to 120 pages.

Speaking at Austin GDC (as reported by Gamasutra), Krawczyk admitted some in-game dialogue and acting can be, well, piss poor, to paraphrase.

But for God of War III there will be proper rehearsals and readings. Which might take some time, if there are 120 pages to get through. According to Krawczyk, the storyline will be "a very specific three-act experience".

Little else is known of the third instalment in the God of War series, other than it'll be a PS3 exclusive and it's not out this year. Still. There's a nice video on the gamepage, if you're that bothered.

Yay, whip out a useless CGI trailer to have something to show at E3 and let us wait a year for the first screen.

I'd assume they can work on the meat of the game without having the actual voicing of the script being done...

I hope its as wonderfully epic as the previous ones!

Its not like films where production won't begin until the script is finalised (which in the case of films is not always the way things go anyway). They can have engine updates, art assets and gameplay mechanics etc on the go well before the story or dialogue is locked down.

I want this game a lot.
The development team conjured up some of the nicest looking graphics I've seen on the PS2, so this new one should be frigging beautiful on the PS3.

This will be my reason for getting a PS3 unless the next project from Team Ico comes out first.

Seems to me that God of War should be Christmas next and knowing Sony, i'll be getting a US version as it will probably be delayed in Euorope.

Actually, I care. Alot, like a film a good script = potntial great film.

the acting and the cut scenes ahve always been good in the GOW series and with a 120 page script it is bound to be even better this time around!!

Definately one of the most anticipated games for the next 12 months /fingers crossed.

Hmm, let's see ... the last much-anticipated game which spent its time hyping up it's huge script was ... er ... Haze. Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

well, Im no G'o'War fan but this is promising that they feel the need to write actual dialogue and a proper story.
Im thoroughly sick of pitiful childrens scripting in 85% of video games.

Is this the same woman who tried to script blacksite? i hope not....

As long as one of the acts doesn't involve Kratos stalking someone (like some old geezer we know), then it should be good.

I own all three GoW's and other than CoO, they're pretty long.

We kinda already know the story Kratos and the Titans are after Zeus
