FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage dated
Out next Friday.
Empire Interactive will be lining up copies of FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage on shelves near you next Friday.
We'd previously expected it this month, although it's the first time we've seen a specific date. The confirmation also coincides with it going gold - not to be confused with Going for Gold, a British quiz show hosted by Henry Kelly.
FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage is developed by Bugbear exclusively for Xbox 360. It bears little regard for the rules, and is often described as Burnout's redneck cousin. The aim is simply to smash, crash, and thrash your way to the front.
"The game ticks the box marked 'fun' with a big, wavy, squealy line of burnt rubber," said our very own Rob Fahey, who went to see it in action earlier this month. Pop over to Eurogamer's first impressions of FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage to find out more.

Shame that FlatOut UC isn't a completely new game though but a remake of FlatOut 2 with prettier visuals... at least the £30 (online) pricepoint makes it a bit easier to swallow.

At the very least though, I'm sure that there'll be leaderboards.
Oh, and I didn't have any online problems with the first FlatOut on the X-Box. I can't say that I've ever taken the second one online before though. I might just have to try that later, even if it's only to discover that there are no games available to play online!

The first game works superbly with the official M$ wheel when being played via BC, although strangely, there is no rumble, even when plugged in and with a battery pack slotted in.
Given that it wasn't intended for wheel use at the time, I'm guessing that there's a very good chance that this one will be just as well supported, if not better.

Don't bother with DiRT, it's soooo awful I feel sick just thinking about it...
Someone on here described it as a hovercraft sim! The perfect way to describe how bad the handling is on this sell out piece of crap.
I cancelled my pre-order after enduring the demo.
Now, Flat Out carnage, if it's anything like the PC versions (1 and 2) it'll be ace!
