FFXIII PS3 includes FFXIV beta invite
Monster RPG ships 5m copies.
There's a Final Fantasy XIV closed beta invite inside the PS3 Final Fantasy XIII box.
Rummage around near the manual and you'll find a code for the Square Enix Members website. Redeem and you'll be on a VIP list for the FFXIV closed beta. You'll also receive a special in-game item to use in the 14th Final Fantasy game.
Earlier this month, Square Enix told us that loyal FFXI players would be invited to a FFXIV closed alpha test on 11th March.
Final Fantasy XIV was a surprise reveal at E3 2009 last summer. Even more surprising was an ambitious 2010 release date and apparent console exclusivity to PS3.
Head over to our Final Fantasy XIV gallery for four new screenshots.
Final Fantasy XIII was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 yesterday. The game's apparently shipped a whopping five million copies already, although how many of those have sold will we have to wait and see.
We reviewed the game and then compared both versions to see which runs best.

Since it already started I'll i dont give a flying f**k for all the tards that find an opinion about a game wrong and downrate me for it. I was fully aware there are too many nolifers that get butthurt about an "offencive" opinion torwards "their" game.
cheers

@Widge
I agree, nice to be able to play in living room or office as is convenient; especially when you have to work around other family members.

It took about 5 hours for mine to drop in to my inbox - I think the servers are just overloaded.
EDIT
@headache you don't have to, there's a PC beta sign up with no purchase necessary (afaik) at http://entry.ffx iv.com/eu/index.html
EDIT 2
Cheers iaman, fixed.

Very much doubt that XIV is the 14th Final Fantasy game. 44th, perhaps.

Out of the 10-12 JRPGs I've played so far - most on PS2, a couple on 360 - I've enjoyed the combat system in nearly all of them (got a bit fed up with all the random fights popping up out of nowhere in some of them though), but all the melodrama and androgynous teenage heroes always managed to turn me off within rarely more than a handful of hours.
As you might imagine I'm a bit skeptical going into this one, but I figured I might as well give it a try. Based on the gameplay and cutscene videos I've seen so far, I didn't count more than two or three main characters that looked or sounded like they might be getting on my nerves within the first hour or two
In worst case scenario I can always use it as a trade in for GoW3 or Just Cause 2 later this month.

It's 100% correct. Epic fail.

I also had a few problems with copy-paste of the code given but that seemed to be because it left spaces and knocked the last four letters/numbers off.

I'm around two hours in now, and she's definitely the worst of the bunch so far - but she also seems a bit... odd, so I think there's a chance I could actually start to find her endearing rather than just view her as one of the usual annoying kids they seem to have far too many of in most JRPGs.
I do find it a tad disturbing that a ~14 year old girl is moaning like a pornstar in every other sentence though, but I guess that's the Japanese for you
Actually my first impressions of the game have been a lot more positive than I expected.
Combat is pretty boring and very repetitive here in the beginning, but obviously all the reviews had warned about that. The game looks fantastic though (none of the compressed Flash videos online can come even close to prepare you for just how stunning the first pre-rendered sequences look in 1080p on a 40" HDTV), the story seems like it might have potential (and I like all the background info in the datalog), the voice acting so far is quite good (even Vanille's voice acting isn't really bad, just forcibly annoying) and none of the characters and their interactions have yet made me want to puke and curse JRPGs for their love of soap opera drama (Snow is starting to get on my nerves with his constant talk about being a hero though, but I had feared I would find him far more annoying than I actually have. It really helps that most of the voice acting isn't the typical over the top, cartoon performances).
I'm looking forward to diving back in again later tonight - I'm hoping this might actually turn out to be the first JRPG that I'll genuinely like (or just be able to stomach) for more than its combat system.
Edit: Didn't even recognize Lightning's voice actress as the same woman who does Liara in Mass Effect. I think I actually like her voice better here in FFXIII.

I had a similar issue, I suggest you check one more time - because it turned out to be facepalmingly stupid of me.
The field with the code only allows 20 digits, and asks that you enter it without spaces. However, the email that they send you has 20 digits, with a space after each 4. Naturally, the first thing i did was copy and paste the code from the email into the beta app, then removed all the spaces. Cunningly, this left me with only 16 digits in the field, as it had chopped off the last 4.
Then I spent a little while feeling rather silly.

Doubtful, I'm 39 aswell. I love internet assumptions.
I was merely telling the fact that there´s also a code in the 360 version.
No, there isn't. Anything else?

Using the word waambulance doesn't mean I'm immature, I just think it suits your level of crying about this game.
