FFXI Wings dated

Expansion in November.

The fourth expansion pack for Final Fantasy XI will be released for 360 and PC on 22nd November.

You will need the original game to play it, and Square Enix is still making its mind up about a price.

Not much is currently known about Wings of the Goddess, as it was only announced back in May.

It's rumoured to take part in the past, showing us the history of Vana'diel, and will also add a new job class to proceedings. Wings is on show at the Tokyo Game Show this week, so expect more details soon.

Final Fantasy XI is a massively-multiplayer online version of the legendary role-playing franchise - eventually launching here in 2004. It was also the first game to successfully offer cross-platform play, as PC, PS2 and 360 adventurers fought side by side.

Expansion packs Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia and Treasures of Aht Urhgan have kept the experience fresh, luring in around 500,000 current players.

Head over to our Final Fantasy XI review on 360 to see how it all fits together.

    All players interact on the same servers. There was a 360 Beta server called Hydra which ran from Late 2005 - April 2006. Players were able to transfer to any server they wanted at the end of the beta.

    @Bearintraining

    Still on mission 35 in ToAU. Really need to get motivated and finish that bad boy off. My Gamerscore will thank me for it. It will thank me even more when I get round to registering my Dynamis-Xarcabard Interloper >.>

    Xarca interloper is nothing - Dynamis-Tavnazia Interloper on the other hand...

    @12monkey

    I really really should be doing dynamis... but my LS split after 3 months of me joining... and in all honesty, them city dyna's are just way too long. In my gamerscore you'll only see the storylines for now.

    Hehe, what server are you on?
  • The12thMonkey #9 5 years ago

    @Zastai

    Oh don't worry, I'm working on Tavvy Interloper. My LS beat Dynamis-Dunes on the first try, and we've got Buburimu on Wednesday... same day Halo 3 comes out.... damn my busy playing schedule.

    Dynamis-Buburimu is easy. I still needs to be beat Dyanmis-Valkurm and Qufim before Tav access though. My LS killed Dynamis Lord again on Saturday :)

    I'm on Ramuh btw.

    As Kafeen says, Bubu is easy if your puller(s) know where the dragons are - we tend to beat the boss in about 20 minutes on our runs, leaving plenty of time to farm. Last time we had 11 drops, including a coveted WAR belt.

    Qufim can be tricky - there are a few places where you can lose time, and the boss pull can be a bit finicky. Altogether on par with Dunes for difficulty.

    We're doing Qufim again tomorrow, then Dunes next week - this should get enough of our people the win to schedule 2 parallel tavnazia runs next month. The one Tav run we've done so far showed that the zone had absolutely no tolerance for bad pulling - huge links happen. It's such a damn shame that the win there gives nothing except a key item; seems very unlikely that we'd go for the win anytime soon.

    Pebbles!

    Greetings from another Belgian ^^ Are you in a benelux LS? We have quite a large one on ragnarok.

    Just in a small social LS (with a Dutchman, a few UKers and a handful of USians), as well as a good Euro-friendly Dynamis LS (LimitBreak). To be honest, I only come online for Dynamis and Assault (1/5 on Goliard) - although I may actually level Dancer when it comes out.
