Fable 2 Pub Games exploited
Hit button, win ten times as much.
It just keeps going wrong for poor old Fable 2 Pub Games, which we gave 3/10. Now it turns out that you can bet 600 gold coins for the price of 60, massively improving your odds in one of the card games.
The Fortune's Tower card game involves laying down a few gold coins and hoping the random drop of card combinations will multiply your investment. You will then be able to merge the winnings with your Fable 2 character to gain an advantage in Lionhead's upcoming Xbox 360 RPG, due out on 24th October.
And what handsome winnings they will be if you follow one wily YouTuber's example (thanks Joystiq) and press LB just as you hit A to place a bet. Doing so quickly sets the amount wagered to maximum, and the game pays out accordingly - but only takes the amount you had specified before you hit LB, which can be as little as 15 coins.
In other words, any winnings will be ten times what you expected, and any losses will be virtually insignificant by comparison. And we've confirmed it works on the copy we have at the office.
Presumably this will be patched out, but there's nothing to suggest you will be parted with your winnings when it is, so if you've forked out the ludicrous 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60) asking price, get in there.

The Pub Games are from Carbonated Games, Fable II is from Lionhead... There's no point in dismissing Fable II based on these but unfortunately some people think backwards.

It doesn't strictly make it any easier to win on Keystone and Spinnerbox, but you have more cash available to perservere with them. I've now hit 5* level and won all the unique items. I've unlocked all FT and SB games and am halfway through the jackpot games on KS.
I believe the easy Gamerpoints and effective cheatmode should be adequate payback for the 800MSP...
I hope they do patch it, but I'll get one tanked stockpile character sorted out first of all!

true you can't judge one company on another companies performance. But people still wil and if you allow something to carry your "brand" then you endorse the product. Maybe Lionhead should have taken 5mins to see what toss Carbonated Games where making with there IP.

Anyone found to have used said exploit when they insert the Fable II disk will be instantly made a meanie and hated by everyone you meet in game.

Personally I don't intend to go into the game with enough cash to make myself Emperor of Albion from the off since I'd like to feel some sort of reward from playing. I still haven't bothered using any cheats in GTAIV yet because I wanted to experience the game "clean"... However, the number of people who will use the exploit to do just this and thereby ruin their gaming experience will only reflect badly on Fable II.
They should patch it to cap everyone's accounts at a reasonable level and "fix" the exploit, thereby setting a level playing field. This will however piss the f*** out of people to have legitimately achieved a high score. Future games can still achieve silly high scores but only without the glitch.
At the very least, leaderboard qualification should be reset to only recognise characters started after the patch comes into effect and all future characters should be prevented from utilising the exploit.

I also agree with Sevens. Not letting you get money off those you've bettered in combat or missions you've completed is just a stupid idea. You should be able to take what money those you've dispatched had on them.

"I won't get my total up to anything higher than 500 grand"
How do you expect to get that amount without cheating? I've been playing it clean since last week and my total is only about 25k and it's getting really (really!) boring now.

I will definitely be cheating to get to that amount! But then I'll stop.
