EDGE returns triumphant to App Store
Plus: Beneath A Steel Sky out on Friday.
Mobigame's EDGE has returned to the App Store after a long and well documented legal battle with Tim Langdell.
There's no explanation given on the product page, just the £2.99 asking price and a description of the game. There's a Lite version too, should you wish to try before you buy.
Maybe EA's petition to have Langdell's EDGE trademark abolished was successful.
Also on the App Store, from Friday, will be Charles Cecils' iPhone adaptation of point-and-click adventure Beneath A Steel Sky. This will cost £2.99 and pack numerous extras, as our keen coverage has pointed out.

I still have it on my ipod touch from before this mess started.
beyond all the controversy concerning that prick Langdell... the game itself is still awesome

I've had the demo for ages, loved it and glad I'll finally get the chance to play it in it's entirety.

I hope you contacted Langdell to agreed the use of Edge in that comment - I wouldn't want him sending EG a cease-and-desist request...

Yes, BASS is very much worth it. Among the best point and clicks and its world is a fairly serious and slightly dark one. The puzzles and story are top notch.

The world isn't always such a bad place, despite the efforts of people like Tim 'Cunt' Langdell.
We collectively pity you mate.

I said it would amuse me, not that I wanted them to pay him. It would amuse me because they are getting all of this kudos for 'sticking it' to 'the man', yet they didn't make any kind of official announcement as to how. As vocal as they have been in the press it is a little curious as to why they didnt shout from the rooftops that EDGE is back up.

Sigh. I only meant this story to be a heads-up that the game was back on the store.
- they hadn't buckled to Langdell
- there would be an official press release soon
- the apparent name change from 'Edge' to 'Edge by Mobigame' was deliberate
- Apple agree there is no legal risk for them in the US now
- recent events (EA) had helped convince Apple and they hope it will last
Cool. I'll see what that press release says.
Oh by the way, BASS is out now.
Good news. Press release was wrong then. Admittedly I should have checked, but was busy and didn't see the need. Well done for spotting it.
Worst. News story. Ever.
That's informed a lot of people that EDGE and BASS are on the App Store to buy. You should start your own blog.

Jaffa Cakes are not biscuits.
Anyway, I really hope Langdell loses all rights to the "Edge" trademark and then gets sued by everyone he's ever threatened with legal action.
