DS gets Guitar Hero gadget News

DS News by Robert Purchese

10 September, 2007

Developer Vicarious Visions has said the DS version of Guitar Hero III will come with its own peripheral.

It was news spilled from the mouth of lead designer Andrew Earle, after he told GamesAreFun that the game wouldn't use the stylus as its main input device.

However, he couldn't shed any light on what exactly we will be inputting our rock rhythms with, as the team is still finalising designs. But he did manage to promise that the overall style of the game will be similar to the versions we've seen so far.

Guitar Hero III is coming to PS3, PS2, 360, Wii and DS later this year. Pop over to our gamepage to see what's been going on so far.

I think the plectrum is a pretty on the money guess.

I was going to say a fretboard with buttons that clip onto the side of the ds - but that mini guitar looks cool!

No, no Inspirius; you know that Nintendo wouldn't be silly enough to miss out on VV working on its latest under wraps title: Ocarina Hero!

I think it will come with a 200ft stage and a ready made audience of 12000 fans.

Do I win?

"The DS will also features a karaoke mode, using the unique microphone of the ds. This way you will not only be able to irritate the shit out of people on the tube with you cheap and shitty sounding lack of music taste (rap), but also annoy them to death with your absolute lack of vocal talents. We will call it: Rockstar: Underground street me shizzle." - EA.

I think the mini DS cartridge will actually just be a small part of a small fretboard attachment.

Does it also include the piss-filled bottles to be whipped at you when you fluff it?

I reckon it's a mini guitar that plugs into the mic port.

Mic port? Surely there's only a 'mic hole' on a DS...

I reckon a mini ukelele that plugs into the GBA slot - you need to be able to see the screens after all.

Unless it's a steel guitar simulator.
