DeathSpank dated for July
Gilbert's action RPG for $15.
EA has announced that DeathSpank will be released for Xbox Live Arcade on 13th July and PlayStation Network on 14th July.
The game will cost 1200 Microsoft Points or $14.99.
DeathSpank has been developed by Hothead Games which, up until recently, was lead by Ron Gilbert of Monkey Island fame. He gave no reason for his departure.
The game's an action RPG in the style of Diablo, but with a hefty dose of cartoon humour. We've had our eye on it for a long time.

But I've still yet to see much, if any, sign of the "RPG" in it, and I'm really not interested if it's just button-mashing "action".

Is it me or does DeathSpank have the same voiceover as Captain Qwark?

The voice actor isn't the same as Qwark however you may well have heard him before shouting "OVER 9000!?!?!" in Dragonball Z

The RPG side will be (I think) the loot and inventory, along with upgrading weapons and armour. I wouldn't expect much in the way of decision making or conversation trees.
@seabassuk: Presumably you've tried Torchlight?
