Sequel has two-player, 2D platforming.
The sequel to under-loved Wii game de Blob will be subtitled Underground and be released in spring 2011.
What's more, the game will have two-player action and 2D platforming sequences, according to a scanned page of Nintendo Power magazine.
To find out more, however, you'll need buy the publication.
Nevertheless, this is the first we've heard about the sequel since THQ mentioned a de Blob sequel during a financial call earlier this year.

Good point. I remember skipping some of the objectives just because I had to save the game even though I was so close to finishing a level completely.

Granted it wasn't the best control scheme of all time but it was far better than... Ohhhh let's say the movement controls in Heavy Rain for example.
Do we know if this is still Wii only?

The lack of mid-level saving never bothered me, reminded me of 8/16 bit games. If they could stop the clock when you've done all the challenges, that'd be great - let the player enjoy searching the level for the rest of the stuff.
