Braid on European PS3 Store this week

Eight quid for long-awaited puzzle port.

Hothead Games' PS3 adaptation of Braid is due out on the European PlayStation Store this Thursday, 17th December.

The game will sell for €9.99, according to the developer, which usually translates to £7.99 in Queenlucre.

Braid was released on PS3 in the US last month and for Xbox 360 last year, when it picked up a whopping 10/10 on Eurogamer.

For those wondering what all the fuss is about, all the fuss is about a time-manipulation platform-puzzle game with dreamy visuals and an ambitious, albeit rather florid storyline.

Hopefully the LBP Pirates/water pack will also arrive this week - the rumors said "before christmas" :)

Is this cheaper than on 360? If so I might go for this as I haven't played it yet.
  • Beano #5 2 years ago

At least we will be able to play it with a useable D-pad now :)

Prefer all downloadable games on Ps3 (320 GB its an easy choice).

For Xbox, my 80 GB is always full of the games installled to the HD that we are playing as refuse to play games from CD.

If M$ made there HD cheaper, maybe we would buy more Xbox games...

    @ 3william56: I applaud your pun.

@ Geordiemp: I'm in exactly the same boat, except with a release-day 20GB 360. I'm lucky if I can fit 2 games on the HD, so I never get anything downloaded on the 360.

    @Doctor what

yeah, the NXE install is a great feature, and my 360's with Falcon chipset run so quiet its quieter than my old Ps3 (same as our newer Ps3 slim). But at almost 7 GB at a time its limiting.

I actually make my multiplat purchase decisions on a mix of Ps3 vs 360 performance and if Ps3 is as good then get that one as 360 disk space is premium real estate ! Forget net flix, DLC or anything like that....

Actually 10 dollars only translates to 8 quid when the publisher wants to rip us off, those that actually look at exchange rates stick to the traditional £6.29 price point that has been something of a standard on the PSN since the beginning.

There's been a load of cool stuff on the PSN recently that I want to grab once I put some credit on my account, I'll look into this as maybe a new year purchase but those Borderlands DLCs have to come first.

For anyone who's already played both, can you tell me which one you enjoyed more: PixelJunk Shooter or Braid?
  • myiagros #12 2 years ago

i think I personally have enjoyed Braid more, it is definately worth getting both though.
However do be aware they are both incredibly short, you could easily finish them both in under 8 hours.

Ah, brilliant. I hadn't read Dan's review of this for a while. Still makes me chuckle. :)

Apprently the PS3 version is native 1080p and received an audio improvement to boot.

LBP water will be next tuesday. This thursday is all about Blue Toad Murder Files (can't wait)

I'm looking forward to Braid after trying the demo on my now sold 360.

Rather play braid, u get trophies compared to non-trophy games on the old wii (looks at new super mario bros) and laughs!...
  • rprince #17 2 years ago

Gargh, I already bought this on Mac, as there wasn't a PSN version. Wish I'd waited now!
  • NinjaWilliams #18 2 years ago

yeah i have no incentive playing games that dont have trophies or achievements anymore, dont get me wrong i like games but given the choice, id rather get games that does have trophy support et all as it gives me the incentive to play it as well as enjoy and get something out of it at the end of it all - that's what the trophy/gamerscore system was designed for!

btw braid is awesome, makes mario look lame by comparison by a long shot, shame on u nintendo!
