Battlestations maps erupt onto Live News

Eidos is popping out some extra maps for Battlestations: Pacific on Xbox Live Marketplace today. The PC extras will be available on Games for Windows Live from 25th June.

The Volcano Map Pack costs 560 Microsoft Points (GBP 4.76 / EUR 6.72) and adds Volcano and Choke Point maps.

Volcano features a, er, volcano to fight around in Island Capture, Competitive and Duel modes. And Choke Point features a narrow choke point channel to battle over in Siege, Escort and Duel modes.

Battlestations: Pacific came out in May and retained the land or sea, commander or front-liner promise of Battlestations: Midway. The sequel addressed many of the original problems, too, as our Battlestations: Pacific review points out.

I bet even writing that felt dirty. Nice though. Can't see me buying new maps though, because of the nature of the game I never feel they're as necessary as the likes of COD. Volcano sounds interesting.

well these maps looked fun and quite a bit different to the normal maps. its still just sea and a few islands, not worth over 500 points. so they can keep theses.

i thought these would be free, i mean i cant say for sure, but it cant take a lot of work to make a battlestations map.

When are they going to TAKE OUT the AUTO AIMING for ship to ship and AAA engagements ? they've ruined a classic .

Real pet hate of mine when people say "Pacific" instead of "specific".

Appreciate that this was only a pun, but it brought back memories of an old colleague who constantly got this wrong and, worse still, seemed to try an find way to fit the mistake in to every other sentence.

I'm currently counting to 100 to maintain calm.
