EA DICE may be ready to announce a Battlefield: Bad Company 2 beta this week.

US megastore GameStop started the ball rolling, revealing a pre-order campaign that grants access to a PS3 beta beginning 19th November. That listing was later pulled.

Blend Games (via Kotaku) picked up the ball from there, and heard from EA that there would be an announcement about a beta "later this week".

We expect to hear more from an EA event in London tomorrow.

Played this at the EG Expo and it was awesome. It is good to see that some of the big developers are still interested in doing betas!

North South divide, BFBC2 wasn't on the menu at the Leeds Expo :-( I can't wait for this.

DICE know what I like. Hopefully this beta will have a better map than Bad Company 1. Oasis is an OK map, but not the best for showing off and testing the frostbite engine, and luring new players to the game. Let's get a nice building/vehicle filled map for the beta!

looks great and in some ways i prefer the battlefield open gameplay to cod mw,just hope dice can sort out the internet code and improve on its distructable enviroments. also the self healing of the first bad company was stupid in SPlayer as it removed much of the tactics from the gameplay.p.s. i wonder why the beta is on ps3 instead of the usual xboxlive?

The latest gameplay video looked incredible, but I would be amazed and deliriously happy if it was taken from a console build. Gonna order the LE edition to get the multiplayer unlocks on day one, I want that reinforced tank armour :D

I too played BFBC2 at the London Expo and it was great; take BFBC1, add a bunch of BF2, shove it in the blender and out pops BFBC2.

Great news about beta,I agree with bratmandu,in that a decent map is needed for BF:BC2 beta,the videos have been fantastic,so the Beta should be up there with the best I would think,Had the game on pre-order for a while now,cant wait.
