All Oblivion DLC now half-price News

Xbox 360 News by Robert Purchese

2 April, 2009

Bethesda, excited by the onset of spring, has halved the price all Oblivion Xbox 360 DLC. All except Horse Armor, that is, which now costs double.

The discount encompasses big and small expansions Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine, plus the long list of miscellaneous extras: The Fighter's Stronghold, Spell Tomes, The Vile Lair, Mehrunes' Razor, The Thieves Den, The Wizard's Tower and The Orrery.

You can browse and buy at the Xbox Live Marketplace for PC. Bethesda says prices will remain halved for the next week.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion provided Xbox 360 owners with their first essential Western RPG. And most retailers offer the game at a much-reduced price these days.

Head over to our Oblivion review to find out more.

Not to mention the "Double Price" bit being yesterday's April Fool joke from Bethesda

@GamesProgrammer - No, it wasn't free on the PC, it was premium content just like the 360 version.

Nice that it has been reduced but the news article makes it sound as if its only temporary. Why should two year DLC still be full priced anyway after all this time? You can buy the Game of the Year edition with the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine DLC for under £20 now.

DLC should be halved in price after one year IMO then reduced to a third of its original cost after two and so on. Let's face it, very few people will be playing this game now it's over three years old. Granted it's still a great game, one I return to regularly on the PC, but it doesn't change the fact that it's now a rather old one, one that most people have probably long sine traded in.

God dammit, I need points fast! And no shop around here sells any, and I lack a credit card >_<

I've been waiting for a Shivering Isles price drop since the last 800-point one.

I've already got the Horse Armour, so that's nice that everything I haven't got is going down. Despite the fact that I don't even have Oblivion, I might get one or two and buy it at the weekend.

It would be rather humorous if someone actually bought the horse armour at that price. Assuming the transaction can still works.

Wizard's Tower and The Orrery won't download for me. They've taken my points but download just says "could not download..."

Anyone getting the same? Any ideas? All other downloads are fine, got other Oblivion content no problems.

I'm intrigued by the Orrery, only because I wanna see it what it looks like (both my characters are absurdly powerful and don't need any more boosts).

Shivering Isles is essential. Really, I was amazed. I'd almost recommend a new character for it as that's what I did - straight from the Imperial Prison to the gate, and never looked back.

Had the GOTY version with SI and NotN, but I went ahead and bought all the little ones today to round out the collection. All but one of them was 75 points, and the other one was only 125.

I'll need to get back to Oblivion at some point, now.

Oh, btw, it seems the horse armor really is 400 points now, was it 400 before? I think since they now admit it is ridiculous, they should just give it away free.
