Nintendo lawyers jump on No Mario's Sky parody
Relaunches as DMCA's Sky instead.
Indie mash-up parody No Mario's Sky has been squashed by lawyers.
The free 2D side-scroller cleverly mixed old school Mario platforming with procedurally-generated space sections, a la No Man's Sky.
But after a week online, perhaps unsurprisingly, No Mario's Sky has been pulled offline.
"Due to a copyright claim by Nintendo we've had to take the game down," developer ASMB Games has said.
"Thanks everyone for playing and enjoying our little fan game. We would love to see an official Nintendo game in this style - a Mario Galaxy-style game in 2D within a procedurally-generated universe. No Mario's Sky is no more-io!"
But all is not lost... Just as swiftly as No Mario's Sky disappeared, a replacement has emerged. Introducing - DMCA's Sky:
"Help Spaceman Finn search for Princess Mango in an infinite universe," the description for Digital Millennium Copyright Act's Sky reads. "Featuring crazy Moombas, an Infinite Universe, muscle, amazing physics and a radical space ship."
It stars a Mario-alike character in a slightly-different looking platform world with also slightly-different looking space sections.

As for No Mario's Sky - like anything on the internet, it's still available in certain places.
