13 Steam Machine developers confirmed.

PC manufacturer Digital Storm revealed that it will release the first dedicated Steam Machine later this month for $1899 (about 1160).

The insanely high price will get you top of the line graphics - a good thing as it costs more than every next-gen gaming console combined. "We are not looking to compete with console pricing," said Digital Storm's director of product development Rajeev Kuruppu. "We're taking aim at the high end of the market, targeting consumers that demand the best possible gaming experience and who are looking for a PC capable of playing any title on their new 4K display."

The fancy shmancy kit will come with a 240mm radiator that should make it "the most thermally efficient SFF computer available," according to Digital Storm. For more details, check out the manufacturer's Bolt 2 homepage.

Elsewhere in Steam Machine news, a dozen other third party developers have been revealed to be working on their own Steam-based platforms, according to Endgadget. The known developers so far are: Alienware, Falcon Northwest, iBuyPower, CyberPowerPC, Origin PC, Gigabyte, Materiel.net, Webhallen, Alternate, Next, Zotac and Scan Computers. There could be more though, and further info will likely be revealed at CES this week.
