Grand Theft Auto 3 and GTA: Vice City reappear on ESRB for PS3

Now, Tommy, that says "coming soon".

Open world PlayStation 2 gangster romps Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City may soon be re-released on PlayStation Network.

Both have reappeared, rated M for PS3, on the American ratings board ESRB.

They first appeared back in January. That they're back, suggests a release may not be too far away.

These won't be HD remakes - they'd probably be sold together in a special bundle if they were.

Rockstar hasn't officially announced anything.

But where is San Andreas - at the gym? The only explanation we can think of is that Grand Theft Auto 5, reportedly due this October, shares the same setting - both beautifully compared side-by-side in a fan-made video.

"There are some real eye-opening moments, like rain pouring down from the clouds and the huge moon glinting at you from the sky..."

Tom Bramwell reviewing GTA3 in 2001

Grand Theft Auto 3 was released in the autumn of 2001, when Eurogamer operations director Tom Bramwell was a fresh-faced young upstart with a pen in his hand and a game in his drive. Glassy eyed, he wrote, "There are some real eye-opening moments, like rain pouring down from the clouds and the huge moon glinting at you from the sky..."

Vice City touched down just one year later, in 2002. Both Tom Bramwell and Eurogamer's then editor Kristan Reed reviewed it.
