PS2 Classics God Hand, Maximo on PlayStation Store today

Finally.

Classic PlayStation 2 games God Hand and Maximo will be released on the European PlayStation Store today, Capcom has confirmed.

Maximo vs. Army of Zin will also be available, Capcom's European arm announced on its official blog.

All three games will be priced at Ł7.99/€9.99.

US gamers have long been enjoying a range of downloadable PlayStation 2 classics with their hamburgers and freedom fries. Sony promised these games were "en route" to Europe in October last year.

Other titles waiting for their immigration forms include Odin Sphere, GrimGrimoire and Ring of Red.

We'll have the full list of the week's new PlayStation Store content shortly after 1pm.

Wow they actually made it to Europe. I'd all but given up on seeing them.

I reclaimed my copy of God Hand back from a friend who had held onto it for a few years until I berated him enough to get him to send it back. Still quite tempted to get the digital version though, just to avoid having to find my PS2 among all the boxes.

In honesty I aren't too keen on the Ł7.99 pricing. It's a fine price to pay for such great games for the first time but it's not the sort of price that will make me want to buy them again rather than just plug the PS2 in when I need them.

Still... many others will be happy to pay it and that's all that matters. I recommend these highly!

He's kinda right though. There's no reason the PS3 can play downloadable PS2 .iso's but not the discs. Aside from making you buy the games again.

Who says you need to have twenty consoles out all the time? Just unearth your PS2 for as long as you want to play God Hand, then put it away again. It's really not that much of an ordeal unless you decide to make it one.
