What appears to be a viral website campaign has set tongues wagging that Capcom is preparing to unveil a new Resident Evil title.

As spotted on NeoGAF, the site NoHopeLeft shows various images and videos suggesting some kind of apocalyptic scenario is going down.

A mysterious graffiti tag is shown at various locations around the globe, along with a clip showing a terrified woman barricaded in her home, cowering from some undefined threat.

What's this got to do with Capcom? Well, NeoGAF sleuths spotted that the site is registered to Identity Protection Service - the same outfit behind an Operation Raccoon City viral campaign which has been confirmed as legitimate.

TheSixthAxis has also managed to track down a NoHopeLeft billboard in London and traced it back to Capcom via the advertising agency listed on the poster.

On top of that, one of the blog posts is titled "Biohazard sign" - with Biohazard of course being the Japanese name for the Resident Evil series.

So, what does it all mean? Is it something new? Is it connected to Resident Evil: Revelations? The aforementioned Operation Raccoon City perhaps? Or maybe it's just one big red herring.

Capcom has declined to comment but it looks like we might find out more soon enough - the various images on the site are all festooned with tomorrow's date.
