Uncharted series sells 13 million copies
Uncharted 3 week one sales were double UC2.
Naughty Dog's Uncharted series has sold in excess of 13 million copies worldwide, publisher Sony has revealed.
Sony marketing man Asad Quizilbash offered the figure during an interview with IndustryGamers.
He added that the latest in the series, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, sold twice as many copies in its first week as Uncharted 2 did, "far exceeding our expectations". However, he didn't offer precise sales figures, reiterating only that it shipped 3.8 million copies to retailers on day one.
Next up for Drake and co. is Vita launch title Uncharted: Golden Abyss, due out on 22nd February.

The Uncharted series is also a great way to introduce proper games to the casual gamer/nongamer crowd.

Game is awesome, although the whole things falling with Nate on it etc, is slightly overdone. I actually prefer this to number 2, as well.
Playing on hardest difficulty , so offers suitable challenge, and.getting moneys worth. Unsure I'll try MP, but regardless, my favourite game of year. Although, I can appreciate that there's other games that are better in many ways, none just bring same smile to my face

After finishing the campaign it's a 6/10 experience. I'm not interested in the multiplayer this time around.
Naughty Dog have got a lot of thinking to and creative obstacles to overcome when designing the next one. They can't carry on knocking out super (visually) polished rollercoaster rides and expect everybody to continue to ignore the ever-decreasing gameplay.

My local Tesco has for some time both Unchartered 1 and 2 on sale. Thought they'd stock Uncharted 3 but lo and behold, they've plumped for Unchartered 3.
It's misspelt 4 different times within the area of a square metre (the 3 different shelf things and their shiny, laminated top 20).

Don't care though.my game of year, although I do agree, it will need sprucing up for a fourth instalment.

It's a great game, and I recommend it, but there's plenty that Naughty Dog can improve upon for the next one.
But yes, it's an excellent series and I'm very interested to see how this Vita game turns out.

Try out multi-player though. There is an additional co-op story - among so many other thing - to discover and the game really comes to its own playing it.
As a single player experience, I would rate it 8 (or even 7 compared to the double 10 the series deserved for their first two installments). With the addition of the excellent multiplayer, a well-deserved 9 seems fair.

Most people say its not as good as UC2 cause it didn't make the massive one did from it predecessor ....

I just felt this one focused too much on shooting and not enough puzzles and innovation.

Quizilbash also claimed that Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception sold twice as many copies in its first week as Uncharted 2 did, which is somewhat untrue. While Uncharted 2 sold 750M units in its first week, Uncharted 3 sold 1M, hardly "twice as many".
Uncharted 1 sold 3.9M units in its lifetime, while Uncharted 2 leaped to 5.14M units. To date, Uncharted 3 has only sold 1.75M, and sales plummeted from 1M first week sales worldwide to 200K, and in the third and fourth weeks, 132K and 47K respectively, which to Sony and Naughty Dog must be a disturbing trend.

Doubt they too worried tbh. Uncharted 2 took a month to sell a million units, and 3 did that in a week. Take into account the two games it went toe to toe with at launch (mw3&bf3), which are two of biggest juggernauts in industry, and they'll be pretty happy. The game will sell more at Christmas, and its Kissimmee sales will tick over nicely, if slower than games like bf3 etc. take into account, its not multi platform too, and there really isn't that much that can be asked from game. It's not an fps and doesn't compete in terms of sales with games like mw3, halo etc, and seems closer to gears series sales wise, although gears seems to have advantage over it slightly based on sales for 2 and 3. Gears sells a lot based on the MP too, which uncharted can't really compete with. The game doesn't have a nerd fan base like say Batman games, which owe to it's rich history, as well as quality of game.
All in all, they won't be too unhappy, as long as game Carries on selling few hundred thousand here and there, as will soon add up.to have even established an IP on a platform that isn't an fps and shifts these numbers in this day and age, is pretty phenomenal tbh

i am going to back back to it, see what the patch is like and get the rest of the trophies.
my only gripe was stuff caved in far too much. it became expected. less would have been more.

100% agree, it actually became slightly annoying how often it would happen at points. sometimes , 3-4 times within quick succession, and just felt like that added nothing to game, that 1-2 wouldn't have already done, and they were just showing off almost.

Though I really love the story in UC3 so far - for the life of me I can't even vaguely remember what the story in UC2 was. As long as it works, "gameplay" has never really bothered me.

Literally just finished 3. While it was an immense roller coaster the phrass "this is just taking the piss now" got said in my house way too much re the levels falling to bits etc.
I just felt this one focused too much on shooting and not enough puzzles and innovation.
Yeah I got that impression too. While it's still an outstanding game compared to most of the competition this year, I did feel that they gave fighting and running (the escape and chase sequences) too much importance. I would have liked a bit more traversal in the game. The puzzles were fine though.
Also, there were too many occasions when the floor beneath Drake would crumble and he would fall or catch a ledge "just in time".
Finished on Hard and Crushing. Trying to get the rest of the trophies (while also finishing some other games - e.g. GeOW3 on Hardcore and Rayman Origins)
Still, for me, UC3 is a solid 9/10.
