Gearbox wants Duke Nukem feedback
What did you think of it?
Gearbox wants to know what you thought about Duke Nukem Forever.
A limited-time survey aims to collect feedback about various areas of the game.
What score would you give Duke Nukem Forever? Would you recommend DNF to a friend? How do you rate the graphics, humour and gameplay? How much did you like Duke's humour, the puzzles, world interaction, two-weapon inventory, regenerating health and linear level design?
The survey then asks what features you like in shooter games. And that's it.
Go have your say.
Eurogamer's Duke Nukem Forever Review awarded 3/10. "The appeal of Duke Nukem lives on. But your time and money would be better spent reliving his iconic past than bearing witness to this gruesomely mangled resurrection."

The humour will always be love-hate, but is part of the Duke character. The gameplay is definately the right direction - we don't need yet another CoD clone, the 90s approach to FPS gameplay is the key point of differenciation for Duke. The difference is that the game should feel like a nod towards the shooters of old, rather than the game actually being dated. No 2/4 weapon limits, no regerating health, no duck-and-cover, maybe even retain keycards if you can find a way to introduce them in a good manner.

edit; and after having taken that survey it seems they are once again on the wrong path. Since non of it dealt with quality, it only asked about content.
Duke's humor works, the ideas would work, but only if it is done wel.
Shadows of the Damned shows this. it's just as juvenile and simpel as Duke, the difference is it is well written and fun to play, Duke wasn't.
Merely asking feedback on wether or not you like Duke's humor and/or linear level design is missing the point. That's not what was wrong with DNF. The fact that these things were underproduced and badely done was the issue.

Gearbox - throw out everything you had to start with that you picked up from 3D Realms, take the character of Duke as he's always been regarded, and build a game around him. Everything else that should be in the game will follow from that.
3D Realms' efforts to make the ultimate game incorporating the best of everything are what led DNF to collapse under its own weight.

I'm genuinely not taking the p*ss here mate, but is English your first language?

Okay, well that makes sense. Because regardless, I'm sorry to inform you that I have to make a citizen's arrest for multiple offences against placement of the letter 'e'. Come quietly and don't make a scene.
Edit: Congratulations - by noticing my deliberate mistake, you have passed the basic literacy test to allow you back on the streets. Let this be a warning to you.

Agree completely, although I picked it up for a tenner on the PC. If I'd spent 30 quid I may have felt differently.

Indeed. You may notice that my first post directing my attention at his spelling wasn't critical, and my second was only jovial. I have nothing but respect for those who can speak a second language (of which I am currently learning a third) and I bear that in mind when communicating over the internet.
My concern was that there are people in the UK who DO spell like that when English is their first language, or indeed, far worse. Freek has an excuse. Those others do not.
And to address your last comment (in Dutch), that doesn't make me a nationalist - quite the opposite.
