Prof Layton Spectre's Call release date
Fourth DS puzzler gets November launch.
Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call will launch across Europe on 25th November, Nintendo has announced.
But European gamers will miss out on 100-hour RPG London Life, an extra mode found in US and Japanese copies of the game.
It features characters from the Layton series and is developed by Brownie Brown, the Nintendo-owned studio behind GBA cult classic Mother 3 - which also never arrived on European shores.
Spectre's Call is the fourth Layton game, but serves, chronologically, as a prequel to the existing DS trilogy.
The series will jump to the 3DS for the next instalment. Mask of Miracles, due 2012 in Europe, launched in Japan earlier this year.
Professor Layton will then appear in a 3DS cross-over game with Capcom's Ace Attorney series.

I can see the future - Nintendo shooting themselves in the foot, then complaining about European sales.... oh wait, that's the past too...

This makes about as much sense as changing the name for no apparent reason. Oh, wait, it does that too.

I don't think there has been a way to retroactively region lock DS games on 3DSes. Sounds like it should work, although I've not tried playing a US DS game on Euro 3DS yet.

...not if we all import the game from the US (which I plan to do). That ought to send a clear message, I should think.

One for import methinks.
